My approach to counseling is that I believe in the power of a therapeutic relationship to help overcome many obstacles in a non-judgmental, nurturing, and safe environment for adults, children, & teens. I specialize in integrative, culturally sensitive, person centered psychotherapy services that help clients lead more fulfilling lives. I use Play and Sandtray Therapy in my work with children. Play therapy can provide a child with opportunities to express complex feelings, learn developmental skills and empower the child to grow and heal. I encourage different forms of self-expression such as art and play therapy.
My goal is to provide a safe, caring environment where tools for change can be developed and healing can happen. I respect what level people are at with processing their life events or circumstances. In collaboration with the client, we then look at utilizing new skills to empower making more effective choices.
I am a bilingual Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and I hold a Master’s Degree in Counseling and a Bachelor’s Degree in Rehabilitation and Disability Services with a Minor in Family & Child Studies. In addition to being a Professional Licensed Counselor, I work as a High School Counselor and help all students in the areas of academic achievement, career and social/emotional development, supporting today’s students in becoming the productive, well-adjusted adults of tomorrow. Outside of my work, I enjoy baking, yoga, and spending time with my loved ones.
