Melia holds a Master's degree in Social Work from Aurora University and began her career working as a social worker in the elementary school setting. In her private practice, Melia takes a person-centered approach to therapy, recognizing that each individual's experiences are unique and multifaceted. She works collaboratively with clients to explore their strengths, preferences, and goals, while also addressing any challenges they may face in navigating a neurotypical world. Melia has experience working with autism, ADHD, anxiety, depression, situational mutism, behavioral concerns, and parenting concerns.
Drawing from a range of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Melia tailors her approach to meet the specific needs of each client. She provides a safe space for individuals to explore their identities, develop coping strategies, and cultivate self-acceptance and resilience.
